If you opt for the sleeping car, keep in mind that you must book the entire unit alone or with someone. Also, the coach has comfortable reclining seats, perfect for getting some shut-eye, so give it a chance.

Transfer to Silver Service in New York or Washington

You need to know three critical things about Union station in New Haven. First, it has paid parking so that you can leave your car overnight for a fee. Second, it is only 15 minutes by foot from Pepe's pizzeria, home of the infamous New Haven apizza, and third, it is only a 30-minute walking distance from the axis of the town, Yale. Local commuter services operated by MTA and CTrail serve the station and the previously mentioned Amtrak lines. As for the buses, Intercity services like Greyhound and local buses and shuttles also stop there.

As previously mentioned, you can change trains at New York's Penn Station's newest addition - Moynihan Train Hall. Recently opened in 2021, the new transportation facility and architectural marvel is situated across 8th Avenue from Penn Station. Fun fact or a warning, Penn station is said to be the busiest train station in the western hemisphere, so keep your eyes peeled on your belongings and take a deep breath before you step into the station.

The second station you may be boarding the Silver Service train is Washington's Union station. Changing trains at this station can be a very convenient experience thanks to its size, modern amenities, and professional staff. 30 platforms house multiple tracks with various types of services provided. Passengers can easily access all station areas since they have escalators, elevators, wheelchair-accessible rooms, and dedicated spaces for luggage storage. Overall, customers will enjoy changing trains here due to the historic charm of the building and the efficient transport systems provided by Washington Union Station.

Arriving by train from New Haven to Orlando

 The central Orlando Amtrak station, 1400 Sligh Blvd, is a beautiful historical building from the 1920s that offers the convenient service of checked baggage and free overnight parking. Unfortunately, it could be better connected, especially if you are going to Disney World; in that case, the Kissimmee station would be a better option. The city center, Universal studio, and Disney World are approximately 10 miles away, but the only way to reach them is by taxi (Uber, Lyft)

Silver service and the local Sun Rail serve Kissimmee station. There is no parking available, but several car rental companies are at the station. It is located in the historic city center and close to Disney World, but you will still need an Uber or a Lyft to get there. 

Orlando is one big giant theme park. Besides the previously mentioned Disney World, it is also home to Seaworld, Legoland, Universal studios, and site-specific Gatorworld, making Orlando a dream destination for families and everybody else.
