Amtrak, the largest passenger railroad service in the U.S., operates the train from Orlando to Baltimore. The two cities are connected by the Silver Service line, composed of two trains, the Silver Meteor and Silver Star.

The Silver Service is a long-distance Amtrak service connecting New York and Miami and serving many smaller cities, one of them being Orlando. All trains have Viewliner sleeping cars, with the option of booking a smaller roomette or a more comfortable bedroom. Still, unlike the Silver Star, the Silver Meteor has a dining car, which also means that the sleeping cars get inclusive room service. 

Amtrak offers two types of units on their Viewliner sleeper cars:

1. At first glance, the Roomette is a tiny room, but it is very well-used. Different innovative storage options will surprise you at every step. They start with two comfortable recliner seats, which turn into a bed, and a second bunk bed that you pull from the ceiling, making enough space for two people to sleep and have a great view. The older Viewliner cars have a toilet and a sink in the room (one of the surprises under the steps to the upper bunk), which can be tricky if there are two people. The newer cars have toilets and bathrooms in the hallway.
2. The Bedroom is twice as big, with a big comfy queen bed and a bathroom in the room (separated by a door). It has all the amenities of the Roomette with a difference of more space and a higher price. 

If you opt for the sleeping car, keep in mind that you must book the entire unit alone or with someone. Also, the coach has comfortable reclining seats, perfect for getting some shut-eye, so give it a chance.

In Orlando, there are two Amtrak intercity stations:

1. The central Orlando Amtrak station, 1400 Sligh Blvd, is a beautiful historical building from the 1920s that offers the convenient service of checked baggage and free overnight parking. Unfortunately, it could be better connected, especially if you are coming from Disney World; in that case, the Kissimmee station would be a better option. The city center, Universal studio, and Disney World are approximately 10 miles away, but the only way to reach them is by taxi (Uber, Lyft)
2. The Silver service and the local Sun Rail serve the Kissimmee station. There is no parking available, but several car rental companies are at the station.

You may feel a bit confused in Baltimore since you will be getting off at Penn Station again, but this time Baltimore Penn Station. One of the oldest and most beautiful stations in the country. It offers a good choice of activities and is close to Baltimore tourist attractions. Located only half a mile from downtown and the inner harbor, the station is also a stroll away from the vibrant Charles North neighborhood. Besides its stunning architecture, the area is home to multiple art and entertainment venues. Visit the American Visionary Art Museum to explore beautiful and inspiring artwork from unconventional artists. Catch a show at the Everyman Theatre, a cozy venue featuring Broadway plays and concerts.
